Fixation
Fritz Haber was a great scientist and industrialist. His major work was the "fixation" of nitrogen, so that it can be used in fertilizers. He is responsible for the massive improvement in the efficiency of farmers all over the world during the past 100 years.
But nitrogen fixation has influenced individuals and other societies in other ways - and not all for the good. It decimated the South American guava industry and led to large scale gassing of troops in World War One. Over-use of nitrogen-based fertilisers continues to effect our environment today.
Fixation is a fast-paced, comic look at how one man's meat can be another man's poison. This play is suitable for performance by youth theatre groups.
